Ohio's Evaluation & Assessment Center for Mathematics and Science Education (E & A Center) is a partnership between Miami University and the University of Cincinnati. Directors of the E & A Center, located at Miami University, are:
Jane Butler Kahle Ph.D. Director and Condit Professor of Science Education (Emerita), Miami University
Debbie Zorn Ed.D., Co-Director and Director, Evaluation Services Center, University of Cincinnati,
Center evaluators have expertise in science and mathematics instruction (preK-20), in qualitative and quantitative evaluation and research; in web-based instruction and assessment, in the refinement and development of measurement instruments; and in translating research and evaluation findings for policy makers as well as the general public. The Center also involves, as needed, affiliated faculty with expertise in specific areas from numerous universities within Ohio and across the country. The Center is the repository of valid and reliable instruments to assess progress in mathematics and science education reform (including student achievement). Also, it maintains several large databases, allowing comparisons with similar groups, as appropriate. It is noted for its effective dissemination of evaluation and research findings through both scholarly and popular venues.
